AUTUMN BOOK FAIR 30th & 31st May
At the Autumn Book Fair held last May, the weather gods were once again with us, the rain holding until we were packed up on Sunday. The weekend grossed $11,771, a very satisfactory result. All funds raised are deposited into the Lions Club of Helensville Charitable Trust account and are used to help the many individuals and organisations in our community who are in the need of assistance.
Thanks to all who donated so many high-quality books, without you we would not have been able to hold a book fair. Thanks also to Club members and their families who were with us all weekend and the students from Kaipara College who helped in the set up on Friday. Thanks also to the Friends of Lions and the Kaukapakapa scouts who assisted in packing up and cleaning the Hall on Sunday.
The next Book Fair is our Christmas Book Fair which will be held on the last weekend of November, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th.
As a service to the community the Helensville Lions will accept books throughout the year. Small amounts can be left with Burmester Realty, Commercial Road, Helensville, larger amounts can be delivered to our shed on a Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm. The shed is situated behind the Gull petrol station, Mill Road, Helensville. Otherwise contact Chris at 027 646 3324 or any other member of the Lions Club of Helensville.
