A 2019 calendar celebrating people who have chosen to make South Kaipara their home has been produced by locals Ian Baker (photographer) and Helen Martin (writer). People appearing in the calendar are from all walks of life and range from those with an ancestral connection to the Kaipara to relative newcomers.
The photos, which are in crisp black and white, were shot on a Huawei P20pro cellphone. Printing was by Helensville Copy and Print.
Calendars can be bought from Paper Plus, Helensville. They are also being sold by members of a local charity group, The Angel Fund, formed to help local children play junior sport and to provide local families with financial assistance in difficult times. Angel Fund calendar sales are co-ordinated by Leigh Cummings (4208980). A donation from the proceeds of the calendar is to be made to the fund.
