Annie (Jean) Narbey,
1910 – 2016
One of Helensville’s oldest residents Annie Narbey, known to all as Jean, passed away in September aged 106. Jean, who in the early years ran a beef farm with her husband Hector, was well known for her energetic and lifelong participation in community activities and her talents as a spinner and seamstress. She was a valued and much loved friend to many. She loved sport and had a keen interest in local history, contributing much to the work of the Helensville and District Historical Society. Jean is survived by her family of four children, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
