Victorian Inspired Hearts at the Helensville Museum

Come along to the Te Awaroa Helensville Museum on Saturday 11th February and learn some basic embroidery stitches and create a gift for your valentine (or maybe yourself).

These hearts are inspired by Victorian sweetheart pin cushions made and gifted as signs of love.  Professional embroiderer Jo Dixey studied with the Royal School of Needlework and now works on many public and private commissions, including banners, church furnishings, fashion garments and movie costumes.  A recent volunteer with the Museum, she is happy to share her knowledge.

There’ll be both a morning and an afternoon session and all materials will be provided. For more details contact the Te Awaroa Helensville Museum on (09)4207881 orinfo@helensville.org.nz
